This Wednesday in Crack there will be an all-exclusive Valentine’s Day bake sale raising money for this term’s charity, The Kay Mason Foundation. The bake sale will take place during quarter and students will have the chance to buy cookies, cupcakes and much more!
Charity head Giovanni tells The Oak:
“The charity supports children and teenagers in South Africa who are disadvantaged, yet show promising academic results and enthusiasm, go to top schools in South Africa via the Kay Mason scholarship”.
So far this term, Carthusians have managed to raise an amazing £2000 from the Valentine’s delivery and expects to raise another £1600 from the upcoming mufti day in March. The term’s target is £4000 so a good turnout for the bake sale may even help us exceed this!
When asked how students can get more involved with charity work at Charterhouse, Giovanni tells us,
“Students are all encourage to join the Charities Committee. This is most essential way of contributing the KMF. We also encourage them attend the Charities Committee’s Bake Sales, to purchase our seasonal merchandise (Valentine’s Day roses), to attend the school plays where we provide refreshments during the interval.”
