The Daviesites 24 hour triathlon was a very successful yet tough event for all participants. Almost all boys in the house took part in the triathlon. So far over £6000 have been raised and we are approaching the goal of £7500. We were raising money for the specialists charity fund to help disabled children and young people in Guilford, due to a fire in September at the playground.
Money was raised by parents and teachers on behalf on the boys who took part in the triathlon. The goal was to do 24 hours on a rowing, and cycling machine. This was done by having half an hour slots, each being 10 minutes rowing, 10 cycling, and 10 running, by each boy, and they would have multiple slots throughout the 24 hours. No matter what the time, 1:00 AM 3:00 AM or 5:00 AM, the boys persevered to play their part in the triathlon, and helping to raise money to re-build the play center.
In the end, the triathlon was a huge success, everyone played their part and got the job done. We give special thanks to Alexander Bowes and Rebecca Taylor for organizing the whole event.
Well done Daviesites!
